We are strong advocates of obtaining nutrients through real food, first. However, even if we're eating the right foods, 90% of of us aren’t meeting our daily vitamin and mineral needs as nutrients have continued to to decline due to means of agricultural processes (soil depletion, etc). A study featured in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition (2004) concluded "reliable declines" in the amount of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and vitamin C for 43 different fruit and vegetables. This nutritional content decline is likely due to the number of agricultural practices designed to improve traits such as size, growth rate, and pest resistance all while nutrition content continues to decline. As you can assume, without these essential vitamins and minerals, our bodies aren’t able to function as optimally as they were designed.
Although food can be medicine for maintaining optimal health and preventing disease, when we are coming from a state of depletion or increased need, nutritional supplementation is often necessary.
Our clinic has chosen only pharmaceutical-grade supplements from top manufacturers in the industry to support your individualized treatment plan. The lines we carry are not available to the general public or found in big box stores. Additionally, the supplement industry available to the general public is not regulated by the FDA or an external regulatory party.
Fullscript is the primary supplement dispensary I use in my practice. They offer an extensive list of high-quality supplements not easily found in stores. Through Fullscript, I can customize supplement recommendations specific to you and your needs.
I use Wellevate (Emerson Ecologics) for supplement brands that Fullscript does not carry. Wellevate also carries a wide range of excellent skincare products, essential oils, and protein powders. Through their platform, I am able to customize supplement recommendations specific to you and your needs
